Our Foundation

Founded in Therapeutic Recreation models and techniques, we believe leisure and enjoyment are the key to living a long lasting and fulfilled life. Recreational Therapy is a holistic, purposeful process that utilizes each person's unique leisure interests to achieve a therapeutic goal. In other words, we don't play bingo just to play bingo! Each member receives a Recreational Therapy plan tailored to their strengths and interests to achieve their goals. Leisure interests are taken into account and connected with others who share common interests.

Our Approach

Our program believes that every member is unique, with their own preferences, talents, stories and interests. We interact with our members from a strengths-based approach, meaning we focus on what they CAN do, not what they CAN'T do.

Each of our members receives their own, individualized Recreational Therapy plan, tailored to their specific likes, support areas and goals. We reassess every 6 months to make sure we are supporting them to the best of our ability each stage of their membership.

Our Activities

Our program prioritizes a well rounded, holistic calendar of activities to provide our members variety and new experiences throughout each week and month. We follow a daily flow to create routine, but each day brings new games, projects, friendship and more! Below are some activities you can expect to find our members participating in. Are people living with Dementia or Alzheimer's welcome? Yes! Although a memory loss diagnosis is not required for membership, our services are highly inclusive, adaptable to most needs and very "dementia-friendly." Our staff is trained and exceptional at supporting, redirecting and including the variety of unique needs of our members.

Do you provide transportation? Contact us to chat about our transportation options!

Do you provide meals? We encourage our members to bring their own lunches in a lunchbox. We assist in serving!

Do you assist with caregiving needs? Yes! We have certified caregivers on staff that can assist with various caregiving related needs.

What are the hours of your day program? Our day program for seniors runs Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm.

I looked at several other centers before a social worker suggested Vintage Senior Center. VSC was the right fit; providing a safe, fun, interactive and wholesome environment for my husband. The staff is amazing, thoughtful and caring. VSC provided me with the break I needed after months of 24/7 care. Vintage Silver Center has been a gift to our Mom as well as our family! The staff is incredible and puts so much thought and Care into the plans for each day. Our Mom is enjoying socializing plus doing what we call “brain homework” . Her neurologist says this is the perfect place for her and the activities provided are exactly what she needs to help with the cognitive decline she has. We are so very thankful!!! My 93-year old husband has been going to Vintage Silver Center twice a week for six months. There, he is treated with tender, loving care, respect, and kindness. VSC gives him the opportunity to socialize with others, independently, outside of our home. He loves and benefits from the “athletic” activities. I love that he is stimulated and engaged, and when he’s less energetic, he is wrapped in a warm blanket and enjoys a little snooze. Lauren, Faith, and Brittany are cheerful, observant, attentive, and welcoming to all. It’s a joy to see so many smiling faces and hear the laughter when I arrive at closing time.
